Southern Charm Massage believes the best advertising is by word of mouth. Our goal is to provide the best client experience possible at an unmatched value. Striving for that goal has allowed us to focus on what's important... the client! We think its a focus you will agree is worth it!

We opened Southern Charm Massage in 2013 because we have a passion for massage, total wellness and relaxation. We hope to educate people on the benefits of regular massage to help balance your daily routine of exercise, healthy eating and stretching.

Currently we are comprised of our massage therapist Alicia Durrence and business/marketing manager Steven Durrence, but we are a growing practice and hope to one day be a full spa-like environment combined with Eastern and Western medicine and healthy lifestyle tools.

Alicia has worked with numerous chiropractors, doctors, physical and occupational therapists in the Savannah area and in Florida. She has worked on hundreds of diagnosis like bulging and herniated discs, frozen shoulder, sciatica, plantar fascitis, fibromyalgia, whiplash, degenerative joint disease, tendonitis, TMJ, sacral iliac joint dysfunction, brachial pruritus, and the list goes on and on.

"Therapeutic massage is an age-old remedy, which has proven to be an effective compliment to chiropractic care. Together chiropractic and massage facilitate the natural healing process by keeping the body in proper alignment and ensuring a free flow of nerve impulses ad circulation of fluids. Local massage is often used in preparation for adjustments. Massage relieves the muscle tension and warms up the soft tissues in the area, making joints more pliable and more easily adjusted. A Therapeutic Massage especially is also good preparation for an adjustment. In addition to preparing the immediate area of concern, it helps you relax. Together chiropractic and massage facilitate the natural healing process by keeping the body in proper alignment and ensuring a free flow of nerve impulses and circulation of fluids."         ~ Dr. Mike Cline, DC

"I have recently started to overcome the results of radiation and chemo for cancer. My wife and I believe that this process of healing started after having bi-monthly therapeutic massages. It has been a year and a half since my last cancer treatment and although I still experience weakness, dizziness and nausea I have them less since beginning steady massage therapy eight months ago at SCM. I had no appetite, weak spells daily and no interest in resuming work. My wife suggested massage therapy and I felt better after one session. And with each session, my appetite has gotten better and so have my mental faculties. After massage I am relaxed and also more alert. We both truly believe that massage has helped me overcome the terrible after effects of the chemo and the way radiation drained me of all my energy. I can't say enough about how much I look forward to each session and how great is makes me feel afterwards."  ~ JC

Have a pregnant wife or friend in pain or need a fabulous present for a baby shower? Alicia gives a fabulous relaxation or therapeutic massage on women in their 2nd or 3rd trimesters.

"Pain does not need to be a part of pregnancy. During pregnancy the body undergoes many changes. Muscles and ligaments become stressed because of these new postural changes. Massage can aid in relieving the stress and tension placed on your postural muscles so conditions such as back pain and sciatica do not disrupt your life."                                                  ~ Jeanette Micelotta, MSPT. Women's Health Specialist

Alicia's "specialty" is therapeutic massage and runners, weekend warriors, swimmers, cyclists, tennis players, golfers, etc. of all ages have all benefited from regular massages to keep them in tip-top form and recover from injuries. Icing and stretching are also important for a healthy, balanced body.

"At an age where stress from arthritis and muscle strains are constant in my life, I rely on SCM to battle my chronic pain with their deep tissue massage. Alicia's skilled hands always find what I call the "poison spots" and with skilled manipulation and massage, she loosens and works on the poison areas allowing me more mobility and ease of tensions. I always feel more invigorated and can walk and move with less pain after my massage." ~ Sue C.

"As a former physical therapist and business owner, my life is busy and quite stressful from both good and bad stresses. When I come to SCM my neck and shoulders are in knots and my shoulder range of motion is limited. After and hour the knots and discomfort are gone and my join range of motion is significantly improved. The techniques used don't produce more discomfort... something that is very important to me!!!! Thank you, Alicia!!" ~ Rachel C.

"I was the one who was NOT going to get a massage for fear of someone "seeing" me naked. Well a migraine later I decided to give it a shot. Alicia has such a relaxing spirit, I never even had a chance to remember my fears when I met her. I was so comfortable right away. My migraine was gone and so were the insecurities. 2 years later and I'm still addicted!" ~ Kristi C.
