First Time Massage Client
Having a massage for the first time should be such a relaxing and heavenly experience, but for most(including myself) it was anxious, stressful and unnerving. A little inside advice on what to expect would have gone a long way in enjoying the most out of the massage.
Let's go through and I will explain the entire process and hopefully answer any question and calm any nerves you may have.
Unfortunately we do not as our space and staffing does not allow for it.
The best thing you can do is drink plenty of water, 2-3 cups AT LEAST, before AND after your massage. This will help the toxins that we release during your massage to be flushed out of your body so you won't be as sore the next day. If you are sore the next day, continue to drink water, take some Advil or Aleve, use an ice pack or take a hot bath to help relieve the pain. Also, let me know if we need to adjust anything at your next massage appointment if soreness become an issue.
You may also want to think about your schedule time. Some clients go home and go to bed, as they are so relaxed and rejuvenated. You definitely don't want to be rushed! This is about recharging your mind body and soul.
To make it easier for both of us, please arrive 10-15 Minutes early to fill out paperwork. When you come in, we will chat for a few minutes and feel free to ask me any questions or concerns you may have at this time.
I will step out of the room, giving you a few minutes to undress and lay face down under the sheet and blanket. Undress to your comfort level, most people leave on their underwear. You will be professionally draped at all times and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.
Full body massage includes back, neck, arms, hands, feet and legs. Yes there are areas that are off limits.
The amount of discussion is totally up to you. I have clients that talk very little, if at all, and others that talk the entire time. It's your time to relax. Communication is key to getting the most out of your massage. Notifying me about pressure, too light or too heavy, because it can vary greatly in each area and from person to person. Please also tell me if you have any special request, spend time on your sinuses, just work on your neck and back, don't mess up your hair, you have ticklish feet, etc.
After your massage is over, I will step out of the room. Gently and slowly get off of the table and redress. You might feel a little dizzy and disorientated. Hopefully you have now been able to fully enjoy your first massage. You are probably hooked & addicted, most people are, and are ready to book your next message before leaving.
No classes necessary! This a fancy term that just means the guidelines for what to do, like silence cell phones, talk in a quiet voice, generally show respect for others receiving their treatments. This is all in an effort to maintain an environment of tranquility and relaxation.
Hey, things happen, I understand. The policy is cancellations of 24 hours or less and No-Shows will be charged the full regular rate of the scheduled service.
Please let us know as soon as possible as we will try to accommodate you. If the day's schedule will not allow us to accommodate you then we will have to reschedule your appointment, a No-Show or Cancellation fee may apply.
Tipping is not required but greatly appreciated! An easy guideline is 15-20%
Couple other things to help make your massage the best experience it can be.
First, use the restroom before you get on the table. You definitely don't want to interrupt your massage or be thinking about it the entire time.
Also, focus on your breathing and clearing your mind will help your muscles relax and unwind allowing me to do my job better and for you to get the best results and relaxation possible.
